COMING SOON: A Landmark National Framework for Child Protection in Nigeria
The International Human Rights Commission - IHRC Corporation, also operating under the name INTERPOL Center USA (ICA), through its Mission in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is proud to announce the forthcoming publication of the:
Nigeria Child Protection Compact (CPC) Readiness Assessment and Strategic Framework (2027–2032)
Developed by the IHRC Corporation Mission in Nigeria in strategic partnership with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), this landmark policy framework represents a significant contribution to Nigeria's national efforts to strengthen child protection systems and combat child trafficking through prevention, protection, prosecution, institutional coordination, and community-driven action.
The Framework presents a comprehensive readiness assessment for the development of a future Child Protection Compact (CPC) between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the United States of America, while introducing the proposed National Community-Based Child Protection and Anti-Trafficking Prevention Platform (NCCPATPP) as an innovative national architecture to reinforce grassroots prevention and sustainable child safeguarding.
This publication reflects the unwavering commitment of the IHRC to advancing evidence-based policy, strengthening strategic partnerships, supporting national institutions, and promoting coordinated action to protect every Nigerian child from trafficking, exploitation, abuse, and all forms of violence.
As Nigeria joins the global community in advancing child protection and combating human trafficking, this framework stands as a practical roadmap for government institutions, law enforcement agencies, development partners, civil society organizations, faith-based institutions, traditional leaders, academia, and local communities committed to safeguarding the rights and dignity of every child.
Together, we are building a safer Nigeria where every child is protected, every community is empowered, and every trafficker is held accountable.
