IHRC Reiterates Diplomatic Engagement Strategy for Effective Conflict Resolutions
The Nigeria Police Force Delta State Command under the watch of CP. Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, Psc+ was endowed International Diplomatic Award by the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) ably led by an , His Excellency Prof. h.c. Rafal Marcin Wasik, IHRC Secretary-General.  
The brief and inclusive meeting was held today 23rd November 2021 at the Delta State Police Command Headquarters Asaba, in full attendance of the Police Command and the Special Monitoring Mission International Human Rights Commission (SMM IHRC) Delta State Chapter.
Delivering a keynote speech on behalf of the Secretary-General by IHRC SMM Zonal Coordinator in the Niger Delta Fidelis Onakpoma, expressed gratitude to the Command for finding it possible and important to hold the meeting. “Without doubt, this is an appraisal of your efforts in maintaining equitable policing", he said.
He maintained that as part of commitments of the Organization to protect the human rights of people around the world and promote the culture of peace among the nations,  the urgency to partner and assist the government's security and intelligence agencies to investigate, expose human rights violations and hold abusers accountable cannot be overstressed.
He added that the role of the Police in maintaining peace and enforcing law and order in our modern society is becoming more demanding while its complicatedness has made them go through the rigorous experience in protecting lives and properties.
“As a Diplomatic Organization, we contribute to peacebuilding in respect to international human rights laws by engaging stakeholders and major key players to agree on and implement policies that resolve disputes and strengthen peacemaking process through media literacy, awareness-raising actions, and diplomatic interventions".
“It is in this regard that the International Human Rights Commission headed by His Excellency Prof.  h.c. Rafal Marcin Wasik; IHRC Secretary-General and His Excellency Amb. Dr. Friday Sani; the Ambassador at Large of Nigeria and Commissioner for West African Countries, initiated this diplomatic event in a way to appreciate the Delta State Police Command under the watch of CP Ali Muhammed for the credible roles given in carrying out their call of duty and provide a holistic approach to diplomatic engagement strategies".
In acknowledgment, the State Commissioner of Police who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations; DCP. Adenola Johnson reaffirmed the commitments and partnership of the Police to ensure the respect of human rights laws and continuous improvement in combating crimes.
