Sixth edition of the Solidarity OlympicsPatron of the film International Human Rights Commission
On 5-7 June 2019, 16 thirteen-person voivodship teams competed at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań in the 6th edition of the Solidarity Olympics. Two decades of history. " Our Świętokrzyskie Province was represented by a student Monika Michalik from the class II LO ZSP im. Stanisława Staszica in Włoszczowa and Kinga Wielgus from class II of Władysław Broniewski in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski and Dawid Marcjan from the class II LO ZS No. 2 in Opatów. The group's coordinator during the finals was Mrs. Wioletta Banach, history teacher at ZSP No. 3, and Stanisław Staszic in Włoszczowa. 48 Olympic finalists from all over Poland fought at the central stage. The task of the final group was an oral answer to questions about the Olympics and the defense of their presentation. Our provincial team did not win the podium at the Olympics, but their film "The June 4, 1989 continuation or opening of a new chapter in Polish history?" Was created under the patronage of the UN International Human Rights Commission and Sir Rafał Marcin Wasik, the Secretary General gave interview to our student Monika Michalik. This film is about the transformation of Poland, the political and economic, and the Polish way to freedom, respect for human rights and electoral rights.
