Regional Head Asia Region International Human Rights Commission H.E. Mohsin Durrani visited  Help International Welfare Trust (HIWT)
HELP International Welfare is a Karachi based non-governmental, non-profit organization working to provide modern and comprehensive medical facilities to the underserved population of Pakistan without any discrimination helping alleviate the root cause of many of the socio-economic problems in Pakistan.
HIWT focuses on Thalassemia considering harsh reality of Pakistan where 5 out of 100 people are affected by Thalassemia. HIWT has been serving the underserved communities in Pakistan for last eighteen years. HIWT has been running following projects and initiatives:
HELP Thalassemia Care Center, HELP Online Blood Bank, HELP Blood Research Center, HELP Education Program, HELP Women Club, HELP Financial Aid Program, HELP Aid for Kidney patients.
HELP International Welfare started in 1994 with a Computer and English Language Centre that charged a very nominal fee from its students, Today, HIWT is a well known organization contributing a wide array of dynamic services for the overall wellbeing of society. HIWT regularly organizes various programs on Health, Education and the Environment.
HIWT is also involved in the healthcare sector by arranging eye camps, blood collection campaigns and awareness raising programs about the dangers of HIV/AIDS. HIWT distributes food, clothes and blankets on Eid to the deserving people. Many families are being supported for their daughters’ wedding arrangements.
HIWT facilitates the non affording patients for their operations and medical treatment. Up till now 4750 eye operations have successfully been managed and now HIWT plans to achieve the target of 10,000 operations by 2015. I must appreciate their sincere & dedicated efforts in serving Humanity. International Human Rights Commission will sign an MOU with Help International Welfare Trust (HIWT) for supporting their operations & will support them as & when required.
